Day 1
Tuesday, June 8, 2027
Official Rally Start
Leaving Portland, riders almost immediately enter the famous Kancamagus Highway corridor in New Hampshire's White Mountains, threading through the Pemigewasset Wilderness before diving into the valley of the Wild Ammonoosuc River. Further west, the Mad River Glen Ski Area and the remote hamlet of Buels Gore mark the heart of Vermont's Green Mountains, where the Appalachian Trail crosses your path before you plunge into the valley at Baldwin Creek. The entire day keeps you deep in America's green woods, beginning in New England's Appalachians and finishing with a crossing of the vast Adirondack forest in New York State.
The climb into Lake Placid is a destination ride in its own right. State Route 3 is a fantastic motorcycle route across the park and into Watertown, NY, where you'll settle in for the night.

The optional ADV route sees its first serious climb on Lincoln Gap, a steep mountain pass threading through the Green Mountains of Vermont. Keep in mind that riders should reach the hotel before dark, so off-pavement opportunities on this first day are intentionally limited. A short but fast and fun rip through the Dead Creek Primitive Area drops you into an occasionally muddy and challenging section of the Adirondacks BDR-X.

Day 2
Wednesday, June 9, 2027
You'll need to make a major choice as you depart the hotel in Watertown. Are you going to take the Maple Route or the Lower Route? Both routes offer the same number of checkpoints, about the same mileage, and they are both largely unavoidable slab days.
The Lower Route is about 500 miles, but be sure to plan in the checkpoints you want to achieve along the way! Navigation errors are common on interstate days.
The 540-mile Maple Route highlights Prince Edward County and numerous highways, three ferries, two international border crossings, and the route passes through Toronto. You'll need a passport to enter Canada and re-enter the USA. This route is not recommended for slower riders, as completing it in under 12 hours will be challenging.
*Temporary regulation modification for June 9, 2027. Riders can only achieve checkpoints in either Canada or the USA, except for the finish line checkpoint.

Day 3
Thursday, June 10, 2027
You've survived your first big slab day, but it's not over yet. The geography is unavoidable. It's our philosophy to rip off the bandaid, crush the miles, have some good times on the road, and get you to the good stuff as quickly as possible. ADV adventures are the cruel combination of every road type; there is no perfect machine, tire, or set-up, and that's the point of this event.
The last section of this day sends riders through local roads and a great biker hangout. Be sure to follow the GPX route as you turn north for the day's payoff.

Day 4
Friday, June 11, 2027
Applying the fundamentals of ADV Cannonball yet again, this day of Americana interstate riding concludes with something special. A bucket list rip for any serious road rider on any bike. Don't spare the whip on I-90, because you will want to arrive at Skyline Drive, the gateway to The Black Hills, with plenty of light to take in the iconic Mount Rushmore. Keystone is your best bet for souvenirs, so schedule a little time to pick up the obligatory stickers and patches. 16A and Needles Highway are themselves worth the day's miles as you dive through the motorcycle corkscrews. We overnight in Custer, a delightful historic slice of the American Old West.
Dirt-minded wingnuts can get their tires dusty with a few optional ADV checkpoints, but don't forget to follow the regulations regarding the daily finish line checkpoint!
We recommend saving the tunnel checkpoints for the morning, as Day 5 is designed to be ridden "in and out" from the east.

Day 5
Saturday, June 12, 2027
Departing Custer, you'll pass the ongoing construction of the Crazy Horse Memorial on your left, an epic site of scale and perseverance. Don't miss the checkpoints in the tunnels on Needles Highway; it's well worth the intentional "in and out" for the views and experience alone. The stretch of roadway between Custer and Spearfish is breathtaking and a biker's paradise.
Make your best time across I-90 again, because you want to hit the three massive mountain passes, including Beartooth Pass, with plenty of daylight for Yellowstone's Grand Loop Road section before you pull into Bozeman, Montana.
If you wanted to take the easy road to Bozeman on Day 5, you could take the direct route of 496 miles and about 7 hours to ride.

Day 6
Sunday, June 13, 2027
Riders will enjoy one of America's lost highways, MT-43, once they get off the interstate. The paved road through Lolo Pass is routinely ranked among the best motorcycling roads, and for good reason. It serves mile after mile of seemingly endless curves among some of the most gorgeous and dramatic vistas in the entire country. It's as if US-12 were made for motorcycle riding. The turns start off smoothly, easing you into the rhythm as you begin to descend the mountains. Gradually, the curves get tighter as the scenery around you grows more and more majestic.
Riders who choose to tackle the optional ADV route will take the fastest route to the start of the Lolo Trail. Stretching from Lolo, Montana to Weippe Prairie, Idaho, the Lolo Trail is a National Historic Landmark and the very route followed by Lewis and Clark during their expedition in 1805. Sitting at 5,233 feet above sea level at its highest point, the trail winds through rugged mountains, forested hills, gorgeous meadows, and powerful rivers, making it a natural fit for an ADV detour. Watch for steaming hot springs flowing down the hillsides, and the occasional deer or mountain goat crossing your path. It is remote, raw, and deeply American, exactly the kind of road this event was built for.

Day 7
Monday, June 14, 2027
Your first checkpoint of the day is on the Old Spiral Highway as you leave town and head west. The day can be as easy or as challenging as you like, and this is by design. Leavenworth is a fantastic town to recuperate, refuel, and recharge for Day 8. If you are chasing the Rough Rider Award, you will need to complete three dirt checkpoints on a WABDR loop. Only strong riders who are in the running for the First Overall Award should consider the Extreme Dirt CP located to the north at the base of the Devils Backbone Trail.

Day 8 is one of the most rewarding days of the entire event. Day 8 is one of the most rewarding days of the entire event. The blacktop on Old Blewett Pass can be cracked and uneven, so if that's not your preference, stick to Highway 97 when the GPX turns right onto the old road. The paved route takes you past the iconic Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens before the Columbia River escorts you into Portland.
Riders who opt for the dirt route will be treated to stunning views of Mount Adams. Tracing mostly the WABDR, the ADV track will consume most of the day, even for fast off-road riders.
