Enduristan Luggage Award

A Rally Master’s Award, Regulation 8-E.

Competitor #1 The Stig AKA Captain Chaos · KTM 1290 · Team Chaos · 2025 and 2026 Somewhere on Cottonwood Pass, Colorado, the bag carrying his tools and his clothes left the back of the motorcycle without him, and with it went his rally. This award comes with Enduristan luggage, so that the next thing he loses on a mountain pass is only time. Enduristan Luggage Award

DNF and DNS are not published. Jay Maher #42 was credited The Bridge by Rally Master ruling (+10). Finisher marks a competitor with no other award. Checkpoint Crusher: all standard checkpoints (Reg 8-B). Rough Rider: all DIRT checkpoints, South Coast Ridge waived by Day 8 bulletin (Reg 8-C). Father Crowley Gravel Loop was not labelled DIRT on the road book, so it is not required for either award. Rally Master’s Awards under Reg 8-E. Pro Class is rider numbers 1 to 42; MCC is Mile-Crusher-Class.

The Route

2026 USA ADV Cannonball Rally

Plymouth to the Pacific

8 Days
4,000 Miles
Sept 16 Start Date
0 Support

There are two significant changes for the 2026 ADV Cannonball Rally.

01

Book Your Own Stay

Competitors are now responsible for booking their own accommodations. We've secured a Hilton Group Link with a substantial discount, but each rider or team leader manages their own room: roommates, check-in and check-out, points and perks, and cancellations. Group Links are limited to 50 rooms per hotel on a first-come, first-served basis, and are typically valid up to 60 days before arrival. Riders can book elsewhere if needed, though we don't recommend it.

02

More Miles, Optional Dirt

Competitors asked for more miles and more difficulty, so that's what they're getting. Riders who complete every paved checkpoint and follow the route in full will be rewarded with some of the best motorcycle roads in the country. Based on our spring 2025 pre-run, riders who keep a spirited pace and leave on time each morning will reach the evening hotel before dark.

Route Overview The 2026 route covers 4,000 miles over eight days, departing symbolically from Plymouth Rock on the morning of Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
01

Plymouth, MA → Central Pennsylvania

Catskills to the Appalachian Foothills

The route runs through at least ten state forests and wilderness areas on day one alone. Butler Map's "Gold Motorcycle Roads" carry riders through New York's Catskills before the route rips through the Slide Mountain Wilderness. The day finishes in the foothills of the Appalachians, with an overnight stay in Penn State's college town.

Appalachian mountain road on the 2026 ADV Cannonball Rally route
02

Central Pennsylvania → Lexington

Into Appalachia

Riders collect GPS checkpoints while navigating forested mountain roads through the Appalachian range on the way to Lexington.

03–04

Across America

Open Road

Two days of covering serious distance, the true spirit of any Cannonball event, close the gap toward the Rockies. If the weather cooperates, the day-five climb into Colorado is framed by fall color that looks like a postcard.

05

Colorado Rockies → Moab, UT

Cumberland Pass to Onion Creek

Day five splits the field into two groups. Off-pavement riders take on Tin Cup via Cumberland Pass and the switchbacks of "Lands End" in Colorado, while both groups share incredible G-1 paved roads heading west. In Utah, riders make their way into Moab on the Onion Creek ADV route, crossing more than 15 shallow water crossings beneath red rock views. The paved-only group rides a series of winding roads through some of the finest motorcycle terrain in the Rockies.

06

Moab → Las Vegas

Burr Trail to the Backbone

This is the hardest stage of the rally, best suited to riders who handled day five without trouble. The off-pavement route runs dirt and sand down the Burr Trail Switchbacks and through Singing and Cottonwood Canyons. The paved route still demands pace to beat the sunset, threading Hell's Backbone, Capitol Reef, and Zion National Park. The ADVC is a friendly competition, not a retirement bagger tour, though we'd love to see a bagger take the day. The views of Monument Valley, the Valley of Fire, and Lake Mead make it worth the effort.

Skip any optional off-pavement section in bad weather.

07

Las Vegas → Bakersfield

Death Valley to the Sierra

The ride heads west through Red Rock Canyon and Death Valley before noon. After Father Crowley Valley, the group climbs the Sierra Nevada into Sequoia Forest. At Isabella Lake, riders choose a 4x4 trail down the mountain or a paved run through classic California canyon roads into Bakersfield.

08

Final Day

Three Elevations, One Finish

The last day covers three distinct elevation ranges and two ADV route options. If the coastal road is open, the route may reroute through Big Sur.

#11 Beau from Augusta, KS

#11 Beau is the current motorcycle Cannonball record holder, and he did it the proper way from the Red Ball Garage to the Portofino Hotel.
- 32 hours, 32 minutes.

You can listen to our interview on the PODCAST.

A man standing next to a black motorcycle with a box on the back that reads 'HUMAN ORGAN FOR TRANSPLANT HANDLE WITH CARE'. The man is wearing a black jacket, a black cap, and is standing in front of a white garage door. A logo with orange slices and the word 'ADV' is overlayed on the top left corner of the image.
